I saw her once
Now I can’t unsee her
With her ankh and her ominous eyes
Following me everywhere like the moon
In my darkness,
She is a torch
Her flames roar,
“I show you the way
Run or I’ll burn you”
In my dreams,
She’s a nightmare,
Her hooves say,
“I’m behind you
Run or I’ll ride you down”
And so I ran for dear life,
For, dear life melts at the sight of her
I saw her once
Now I can’t unsee her

Hello, I’ve been reading The Sandman comic, and my favourite character next to the main character, Morpheus( aka Dream) is his goth sister, Death. I like her chill and often witty character that almost makes you forget she has a grim(pun haha) job.
Yeah, so this poem is based on her character. I read somewhere there is a spin off series about her. I’ll go check that out.
